Early life and political career

Marine Le Pen is a French politician who has served as the leader of the National Rally (formerly the National Front) since 2011. She is the daughter of Jean-Marie Le Pen, who founded the National Front in 1972. Le Pen was born in Neuilly-sur-Seine, Hauts-de-Seine, France, on 5 August 1968. She studied law at the University of Paris X – Nanterre and began her political career in the mid-1990s, serving as a regional councilor for ÃŽle-de-France and a member of the European Parliament.

Policies and beliefs

Le Pen is a right-wing nationalist who has espoused anti-immigration and Eurosceptic views. She has called for France to withdraw from the European Union and the eurozone, and she has opposed immigration from Muslim-majority countries. Le Pen has also been criticized for her views on Islam, which she has described as "a totalitarian ideology." Her political views are often compared to those of her father, although Marine Le Pen has attempted to distance herself from his more extreme views.

Political campaigns

Le Pen has run for president of France three times, in 2012, 2017, and 2022. She came in third place in 2012 and second place in 2017 and 2022. In the 2022 election, she won 41.5% of the vote in the second round, losing to Emmanuel Macron.

Personal life

Le Pen is married to Louis Aliot, a member of the National Rally. She has three children from her previous marriage to Franck Chauffroy. Le Pen is a controversial figure in French politics, and her views have been criticized by many. However, she remains a popular figure among some voters who are attracted to her anti-establishment message.
