Permit Requirements
All individuals planning to hike either Buckskin Gulch or Paria Canyon require a valid permit. The fee structure is as follows:
- Day Hiking: $6 per person, per day
- Overnight Trips: $5 per person, per day
Permit Acquisition Options
Permits can be obtained in two ways:
- Pre-Purchase Online: Pay in advance and print out your permit for display on your vehicle dashboard.
- Purchase at Trailhead: Envelopes are available at the Wire Pass to Buckskin Gulch trailhead for payment and permit acquisition.
Additional Fees
In addition to the permit fee, there is a $6 per person day use fee for hiking in the Paria Canyon-Vermillion Cliffs Wilderness area, which includes both Wire Pass and Buckskin Gulch.
Permit Regulations
Please note the following regulations regarding permits:
- Permits are required for both day hiking and overnight trips.
- Permits are non-refundable.
- Permits must be carried with you while hiking.
- Permits are valid for the specified date and time only.
